Teaching of Poem
Standard : VI,

Topic : Trees,

Theme. : The natural world and the relationship between humans and nature.

Learning Outcomes:
E: 602:recites and shares poems, songs, jokes, riddles, tongue twisters, etc.
E :604:responds to announcements and instructions made in class, school assembly, railway station
and in other public places

Introduction& Motivation
• Which animals live in trees?
• Describe the importance of trees to humans and to other species.
• Students to identify several tree species by sight touch and smell.
Guided Reading:
The teacher reads the Poem with proper stress, pause, and intonation. Students listen
silently at the first time. Second time they repeat after the teacher. They read in small groups.
Teacher’s activity:
Before explaining this poem, the teacher also explains the new words with the help of chart.
The teacher explains the lesson in simple words through video. And actions.
Student’s activity:
Volunteer students to briefly explain the content explained by the teacher in front of other
students.

• The banyan is the largest of all the trees.
• The peepul tree shivers (shakes) quickly in the breeze of the wind.
• The coconut tree looks majestic, growing up straight and tall. The Neem tree’s fruits are
very small.

The banyan tree is a huge tree with
aerial roots(roots are found hanging
in the air). It has a thick trunk and
glossy leaves. It provides food for
birds and shelter for birds, animals
and humans.

The tamarind tree is a huge tree
that produces tamarind, an edible
fruit with a sour and sweet taste.

The teak tree gives us wood that
is used for making furniture.

The neem tree is another Indian
tree that has a lot of medicinal
value. The fruits and seeds are tiny
but are a rich source of neem oil.

The date palms are tall
trees, similar to coconut trees.

• The Tamarind tree gives us pleasant shade to relax.
• The leaves of the Date tree are as harp as a blade.
• The Teak tree gives us wood which is useful for all of us, while the Mango tree gives us
fruits which are good and tasty to eat.

Reinforcement:
• Collect and examine flowers and seed pods from trees.
• Lay a sheet and shake a tree.
• Explore the texture of bark.

• How does the banyan tree exemplify its dominance among other trees?
• What effect does the shaking of the peepul tree's leaves have on the overall atmosphere?

• In what way does the coconut tree's appearance contribute to its majestic quality?
• What significance can be attributed to the small size of the Neem tree's fruits?

• How does the Tamarind tree enhance the experience of relaxation and shade?
• What symbolic meaning might be associated with the sharpness of the Date tree's leaves?

Remedial Teaching:
The teacher gives oral drills, reading practice for the late bloomers. They use the internet
source to enrich their skills.

Writing:
They write the writing practice by follow the teacher. They write the book back exercises...
read and understand, vocabulary, listening and writing.
